The Kuwaiti Airways demanding more compensations from Iraq
February 02, 2009
Al-Falah stated to the press on Friday that his company is still calling for Iraq to pay compensation of one billion dollars in consequence of the Iraqi invasion to Kuwait, in addition to three hundred million dollars it was agreed to be paid.
He explained that the sum of 300 million dollars which Iraq expressed the readiness to pay to the Kuwaiti side; does not constitute a final settlement of demands from the Iraqi Airways.
He considered that acceptance of this amount does not mean the abandonment of the remaining one billion dollars.
The Iraqi government's spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said earlier that Baghdad is ready to pay 300 million dollars to the Kuwaiti Airways in return for a final and comprehensive settlement of the dispute since 1990.(Source) Aswat Iraq
